Easter Hunt

Easter Egg hunt at the new house.  No buckets over filling with eggs and candy.  Just the kids, fourteen eggs each, and new hiding places.  

We found one missing egg about a month later.  It was yummy treat for Cameron when he found it. 

Fishing

We went fishing.  But all we caught was a little tiny snapping turtle.  

Not for lack of trying though.  Lots of fishline casts.  Lots of not so patiently waiting.  And whining about being hungry from Annalise.  

And Jace spent most of his time untangling his fishing wire.  Then he would cast it in, tangle it again, and spend time untangling it again.

And then Olivia stepped in a bunch of mud.  So yeah.  Typical fishing with kids. 

The New Normal

Our new normal is running around like crazy people, taking things one a day at a time, and basically just trying to survive around here.  Schools were announced closed on March 14th.  The kids were given all sorts of online assignments and other worksheet homework, and I was suddenly their homeschool teacher.  School for the next few months was really, really rough.  But somehow we survived.  Thankfully our school year ended early.  And we didn't kill each other, so that's a win. 

We're so close to being done on our house, but at the same time, we've still got so much left to do.  And so we go back and forth from our house in town, and from work, and from real life responsibilities, to work on the house.  Painting and building and finishing and all the little things it takes to move into a brand new house.  There are so many little things that I would have never thought about.  And they all seem to take forever, too. And it seems to be never ending.  

The kids are being good sports about it, for the most part.  There are some kids in a neighbor house close to us, so they love to go back and forth form our house to that house, playing to the hearts content.  And getting dirty to their hearts content, too.  

So anyway, a couple of pictures that I've taken. Of random things.   Like Annalise acting like her life is so miserable during the covid shut down phase of life. 

And the kids playing.  And probably fighting. 

And our beautiful house.  That we can't wait to live in.  That will be worth all the mental break downs and exhaustion.  Right???

And the kids being crazy on the trampoline at the new house.  This was still during the peak of the covid scare, so they weren't playing with the neighbors.  Now I doubt that I will ever get a chance to take pictures of them outside with the neighbor kids being over.  Or lurking about.  

The kids elementary school did a drive by teacher parade. 

The weather was pretty nice during all the corona crap, at least.  So they got to play outside a lot. 

And walk stuffed animal dogs. 

And practice lawn mowing skills
